Cable download exceeded and don't know why?Hi folks, its a novice again, to pick your brains.
My ISP has told me that my download was mostly used 2 days ago and all of the limit has been used up, strange though as I wasn't home and I live by myself so there is no one else at home to use it. I do keep the computer on most times though (really need to shut it down regularly though, I know Suffice to say they are blaming automatic updates for me using my limit (which is 2GB a month, beginning at the 1st of each month, yeah I don't do a great deal except perhaps read news online). Anyways I was wondering how I can find out what downloads have been recorded on my system and how much they used? I have a firewall, antivirus and antispyware software on as well. Would much appreciate it if someone might know, they are saying to get a tech in but that would cost me too much money that I don't have.....the story of most of us I am sure. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Cable download exceeded and don't know why?Do you have a wireless network running? Someone may be tapped into it, especially if you don't have any encryption running on it.
Perhaps the easiest way to see if your system downloaded new files is to simply search for any files that were created/modified the day in question. That will show what files are new and you can see what the sizes are. __________________
