CD burner slooooooooooooow!!!


hi, i have a 52x24x52 CD burner and use Nero 6 for burning. i used to be able to copy my discs etc. at 52x speed, but now i cant seem to burn my discs unless i burn them at 4x speed, which is too slow! can anyone help me with this problem?!?!

This is not the best suggestion...but I would look at reinstalling Nero.

I'm assuming the burner is attached to the motherboard using the EIDE interface. If it's sharing with the hard disk, it'll slow it down. Try switching the cable to the other EIDE port. It involves opening up your PC, but as long as you ground yourself, and know about master/slave, you'll be fine.

What specs are your computer? Have you activated DMA on the HD & CD?
