I did not put in a patch for IE to view correctly. I put it in and now I have fluid columns made by CSS! |

Lisa, about a few months back I was like you; obsessing with trying to get my layout purely with CSS. Pffft.... I can't be bothered anymore.
Back on topic, I am using FireFox 0.8 and that sample page looks buggy. Have you updated the page with the corrections? __________________

I am about ready to stop obsessing about CSS, what a pain! I updated the sample page with the corrections, would you mind taking a look and letting me know? Thanks. |

re: your web page sample - better, but the main (middle) column is partly hidden under the right column about 10 px in.
BTW, I don't want to be misunderstood; I like CSS. What I can't be bothered to do is to create my page layout / designs table-less. I will use tables until the day the popular browsers handle CSS the same way (and without the need for some half-baked patch). It's simply not worth the effort... __________________

I thought you were using fluid columns, which would be using the atrribute "float". However your actually fixing the positions on your div tags.
A good resource for fluid column layout can be found here: http://www.glish.com/css/2.asp The page has links to different types of layout. In regards to the sample page, I would suggest changing changing the margin-left attribute. Quote:
Hmm, have to disagree with you here. CSS is the way to go I think its best to learn it now, as they are going to lead the way. It also makes your code more readable and easier to make a change in the look and feel change. I agree that tables have their place when it comes to tabular data, but why not jazz them up with some CSS. However in this sample layout case CSS rather than tables is definitely the way to go.
