This is a very common problem, I had the same thing. After gaming for a while it would do this. go here http://forums.guru3d.com/ and read all about it.
If it is a new card ,,,get rid of it for an ATI.

Why? I'd like to see some facts to support that statement. I personally don't like Nvidia cards anymore, and have started using ATI since, but I'd like to at least see some decent reasons to use ATI, instead of just having people go blindly into buying a new video card.

Having tried 4 different drivers and reformating the hard drive with the problem returning every time is enough reason. Let alone not getting any support whatsoever from my supplier or a nvidia tech. I read forums to find any possable fixes and applied reccomended repairs which did not work. I posted a thread in many forums with specific details about my problem asking if anyone had a "real for sure fix for this problem" guess how many replies I got....ZERO! And this is a common problem for nvidia, who should take it seriously.
Sending the card back and switching to ATI was the only solution that made sense. ATI has a larger support structure in place with all the forums available and they seem to have less reported problems. The problems ATI do have seem to get resolved as well. I now lots of Nvidia product is out there working as it should, but my opinion is why be frustrated when ya can buy a product that works right to begin with.

I would recommend for you to look around on www.pricewatch.com and see what you can afford if you really want to buy a new card.

Pixelations on the screen while gaming, the screen would get all weird colours and kinda fogged. Mostly.

I decided on a 9600xt Radeon by Sapphire, $219.99 Can. It got a lot of good reviews by gamers and on comparison charts for the $$$$$. DX9 compatable and it does have quite rich colour, easy to overclock too. I was on a budget as well, which is why I bought the Nvidia to start with, but I am more pleased now.
