Yahoo drops Google?

I was shocked to find a referral off Yahoo to a forum thread here via this URL: www.desilva.biz/forum/viewtopic543.php today (more than 2 months since the day we started re-directing those links)!

This can ONLY mean one thing, they're not using Google any more!

I went to check the referring page and sure enough; it's not powered by anything anymore

Yahoo! seems to be going back and forth between Google and Ink. Still in some sort of a testing phase?

We'll know its here when Yahoo! introduces a paid inclusion program.

By rolling out its expanded search engine early Tuesday, Google stole some thunder from Yahoo, which announced Wednesday that it's ready to run its search engine without Google's help.

Actually it's not quite bad, the referrals off Yahoo! They're slightly better (at least for GIDForums™ traffic) compared to when they were powered by Google.

Too bad the urls for this site in their database is more than 2 months old.

Yahoo! will have to get Slurp out and about more often if they wish to keep up with Google.

TechTV may be good for a lot of things computer related however that doesn't mean that they know a lot about Search Engines or even Search Engine Optimization. If they are recommending AltaVista over Google now, then they STILL have a lot to learn (either that or they have vested interest)!

Google is still the most relevant, as far as I am concerned at least. Occasionally I would use Yahoo, then MSN Search some... but NEVER AltaVista.

The only mention I remember for Alta Vista recently on TTV was it used to be the tops but it's just standard today -- google is the way to go. Unless I missed something. Was it on Call For Help or Screen Savers? Those are the only two I watch with any consistancy
