Would you sell your Google PageRank?I am seeing these offers for text links off homepages / websites with reasonably good Google PageRank more and more on popular forums these last few days.
So, my question is: if you have or will have a web page with a Google PageRank of 5 or more, will you offer other webmasters an opportunity to buy a text link off your web page(s)? On one recent forum thread (not here), a webmaster was offering a text link for $400.00! __________________

I have seen PR6 links sell for much less ($25)...but it would also depend on the traffic. It is entirely possible that getting the right link might not give you a big PR boost, but a huge traffic boost.
As for selling PR, I'd rather first build some of it. |

Would I sell page rank? In a word... no. Google is fickle. If our PR ever dropped, I'd have to deal wish an upset webmaster. I have better things to do with my time.
Besides... IMO, it makes the seller look like a money-grubbing amateur. -Bob |

We're talking about webmasters who openly advertise 'we're selling' PageRank; they're appealing to webmasters who couldn't care less about traffic off the link.
In case you're wondering, no, I wouldn't sell my PageRank, ever. __________________

I would be carefull about buying pr.
people can fake a higher google PR(dosnt affect the serps). Check to see is the cache the same as the site before you believe the PR indicator. In response to selling pr. you can get more money selling direct advertising. Not through adsesne. I maintain and design a PR5 surfing site and we make 15000 euro a year in advertising from sponsors. |

I also wouldn't sell pr!
$25 for selling PR could be more bother than what it's worth. |

Might as well be buying smoke!Quote:
I seem to remember having a similar discussion before. If i was buying a link from a site with good page rank I am buying something like smoke. Page rank is not under the control of the vendor it is under the control of google or other search engines. If the rank of the site suddenly drops to 0 will I get my money back?Fat chance. If I am the vendor with a classy site like GID**** If you link to a site ,with links to any of the thousands of pyramid schemes, you could find yourself in bad neighbourhoods! I have read that this can lead to 0 ranking of a site. ( I do not know if this is really so but even if it isn't the first point still holds ) The third point , is it legal to advertise selling GOOGLE rank? Google is a trade mark, you could get sued somewhere down the line. This ties in with my first point, the vendor does not OWN page rank. Considering how many websites have been sued in tha last five years would you take that chance? By the way why only sell rank 5 and above? Do ranking points over 5 indicate more traffic? I am not really up on this but I understood that page rank has nothing to do with traffic only the quality of content and fresh content and how easy you make it for the bots to index your site.
