Errors Compiling FLTK2 in Ubuntu

I am attempting to install fltk2 on ubuntu.

after compile, make generated the following errors.

ShapedWindow.cxx:53:35: error: X11/extensions/shape.h: No such file or directory

ShapedWindow.cxx:89: error: ‘ShapeSet’ was not declared in this scope
ShapedWindow.cxx:89: error: ‘XShapeCombineMask’ was not declared in this scope
make[1]: *** [ShapedWindow.o] Error 1

I saw a similar error posted in this forum at
www.gidforums.com
I observered the same error and fixed it with installation of libx11-dev

I found a similar reference suggesting a solution

I may have solved this by installing libxext-dev.
