I am working on a video game and I would like to add in a Character creation program that uses sliders. I am looking for an open source for this if anyone has one. Of course if anyone is willing to help but does not have an open source creator I willingly accept all help.

This step in my game's development has been on hold for some time while I have been hunting for a way to do it. I am now posting here in the hopes that someone might have a solution.

I am working with VC++ 2008 using the darkGDK.

What do you mean by sliders? Like character attribute sliders that, say, change the width of the nose, how far apart the eyes are, things like that?

Oh. I'm not aware of any FOSS programs that will do that, though I'm not up to date on the state of game design anymore.

You might want to look at the games that do incorporate that nowadays and see if you can get the engine for the game. That should have the slider controls you're looking for.
