Accessing my home server from outside my home networkprobably an extremely common problem with an easy answer, but i cant seem to iron this one out...
My home server seems to run nicely, dyndns updates my dynamic ip address no problem, and from any machine in my home, you can access the site in any matter you wish, localhost, 127.0.0.1, the actual ip, or the url. Problem is that you can't access my server from outside of my network. I've left the machine on for 2 weeks straight (still on now), my isp makes no mention of anything related to this subject. The only problem i can see is the netgear router/westell modem setup i have now. i can bypass the router if needed, thanks to XP's connection bridging, but there's still the matter of the modem, and i want to try to avoid that. any ideas? |
