I joined GID forums less than a month ago and since then there have been about 115 new members join. Alot of these are single posters, but this tells me that this site is getting quite a bit of traffic and is of enough interest to most to register.

Actually, it's not really that impressive, we were doing these numbers even in November / December. However the move, the new domain name and the change in the URLs for each thread and post meant that we lost considerable (growth) traffic for the whole of January and we are still doing quite bad compared to what we would have been doing if we hadn't touched a thing (in December).

Nevermind, I am extremely happy with the members that have joined us lately. They are more inclined to use the forum the way it was meant to be - i.e. engaging in discussions, sharing ideas and helping each other.

I personally think things will 'explode' over the next couple of months, traffic-wise; the question I find myself asking is - are we ready for it?

Yeah, like I said, I am fairly new here so I wasn't sure what the growth rate was before.

Another impressive thing (to me at least) is if you do a google search on "Knoppix mini review", the first hit is GID forums. I'm not sure how this whole thing works, but I thought that was impressive!

Most users who find that thread don't actually use that particular phrase but I know we get some hits directly to it.

Yes, that's the wonderful thing about posting here, every thread and post has the potential to be in the top 10 off some SERPs.... and it happens quite often too.
