Re: World of Warcraft?

I prefer to play the old pen & paper games, like AD&D or Shadowrun. You get to use your imagination to create the world, rather than being limited to what someone else envisioned. Plus, you can modify the rules as needed instead of being restricted to what is programmed. You also don't run into problems like what happened to Sony's Star Wars MMORPG.

Additionally, I've known far too many people who waste all their spare time playing the game. I like games but I simply can't see spending 8+ hours a day playing one, or risk getting a divorce/losing a girlfriend over it. Plus, as Kacyndra mentioned, having to pay a monthly fee on top of the original purchase seems a bit much.

Re: World of Warcraft?

Yeah, I worked with a guy who recently got divorced due to playing constantly. I just can't stand the idea of paying by month, i understand they have to do it to maintain servers, and pay developers, but its a lot for me to pay.

I really like D&D, just started playing last year, but i enjoy it.
