What are your experiences about internet directories? Have they been successful in bringing traffic to your site? Have they affected your Google page rank?

Why don't you post an article to wikicommerce.org and other similar wikis. I bet it's more effective than 10 link directory submissions.

Hi when you submit for free the traffic is low to many websites and your link is to deep so you need to pay for a link than you have a better place in the directory and there for you gett more traffic And give you one tip buy a lifetime link or on the index of the directory ( is better value for your website if you buy a lifetime link if you stay longer than a year with your website or if you plan to sell it.

Ye and ofcours you have a good backlink every backlink counts.
And than you go higher in the search engines.

And you get olso more traffic from the search engines

Traffic from directories are minimal but they tend to be targeted. But directory links to well-maintained and well-SEOed ones will exist longer on the net - which would only mean that they can bring you traffic overtime. Collectively, directory links can bring good traffic in the long run.

They are unlikely to bring much direct traffic. They do still help to increase your site's rankings a little but are not as effective as a few years ago.

Till date, I didn't get any traffic from directories. But they would be useful for SEO purpose serving as backlinks. Even Google recommends submitting the site to DMOZ and Yahoo directory.

The main point of submitting to directories is to correctly index your website in the eyes of major search engines..if you get featured links or sponsors you may receive traffic but overall it's for SEO purposes and not direct traffic.

Directories will not help you to get good amount of traffics but these can help you to get some PR.

Because for PR you need some quality backlinks and if you have quality and well optimized submission details then you can get quality backlinks for your websites.
