Question

Installation problems

I'm having problems trying to run apache on windows (me). I get the following error message

--------------------------------
[Mon Feb 02 21:21:37 2004] [crit] (OS 10038)Socket operation on non-socket: make
_sock: for address 0.0.0.0:80, apr_socket_opt_set: (SO_KEEPALIVE)
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
--------------------------------

Also, i'm not sure what the ServerName should be in "httpd". What i've got now is

ServerName localhost:80

Is this wrong? i'm new to this, so any advice will be appreciated! Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried 127.0.0.1:80 as well. In fact i tried lots of different combinations and nothing seems to work...

I don't know what causes the problem.. are there any other settings in http.conf i need to change?

maybe
Listen 127.0.0.1:80
works..

but it also could be that port 80 is already used by something.
you you connect to
http://localhost:80/ ?
