Area Location of SiteHI I posted this question on another forum, but I think this is the better forum to actually ask I didn't realise you had this forum, so please forgive me.
Can anyone tell me how search engines identify what location (ie. America, Uk etc.) your site is? I ask this as a friend and I are paying hosting sites in America and we live in Australia. Need to know how the SE allows a searcher to identify a business in their country. Hope I make sense, I am very new to all this. |

One option to set Geographic target: Google Webmaster ToolsI realise this question was originally posted one year ago, but to keep the information fresh and also to help anyone else searching for similar information, I will share this with you:
At least Google gives you the option to set a Geographic target for your web site. Just get a Google account, if you don't already have one, and log into their Google Webmaster Central site. After you set up your web site, look inside the "Settings" section and you will find one option to set the Geographic target (of your web site). This is what it says there: Quote:
