.htaccess doesnt read .htpasswd correctlyTrouble with .htaccess file.
My .htaccess file isnt reading my .htpasswd file correctly, like i see the encrypted password in my htpasswd file, and when i try to log in, it doesnt work, but when i change the encrypted password to just say 1212, it works just fine. So im now thing that its just not un-encrypting the password correctly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

are you using the 'htpasswd' utility?
I've never had problems when I use that. it could be that your system has problems encrypting the password. on Windows md5 (-m) is used, on Linux CRYPT (-d) |

Well after a day of troubleshooting, I have figured out that, my Perl isnt reading the DES encrypted passwords in the .htpasswd file. It can read the MD5 and plain text passwords, but just not DES. Since my .htpasswd file for reasons that dont matter, can ONLY be in DES, how can I get my Perl to read DES on a windows 2000 system. Thanks for the help.
