Power Calibration Error In Nero Fix (hopefully)

This might be some help to all you guys out there which are having problems with this power calibration error. What I know is that the CD burning engine which comes with XP was developed by Adaptec (I might be wrong so please dont hold me to it). So here's what to do and most of your problems hopefully will be solved. This is the easiest way to tell everyone.
  1. on Desktop click Start
  2. select Control Panel
  3. click on Administrative Tools
  4. click on Services
  5. browse your way down to IMAPI CD BURNING COM SERVICE
  6. right click (on IMAPI) then select properties
  7. in the middle of the window, it will say start up type. Click on the arrow to the right and select disabled.
  8. make sure you click APPLY

Thats it folks. You should notice that Nero starts a lot faster as well.

Please leave any feedback here just to see if it worked for you or not.
Hopefully it will. Thanks matt3678

worked for me

This worked for me. Running XP. Bought a BenQ CRW522W. My old CD drive disappeared and the new CD would not burn.

This has fixed the non-writing. I now have to figure out where the old CD (non burn) has gone - probably stuffed up the master slave stuff ... but thanks for fixing one of my problems!

Does not work for me for some reason:-(

First i used it on version 5, did not work on the HP CD-R branch. Then, I got verson 6, does not work as well. I never had this type of error before when I use the other CD-R branch such as Fujii, Imagine. I have a Creative CD-RW drive by the way ??:

I try to burn using WMP, and there is also an error when it tries to close the CD after copying, can this be a compatibility issue?

Thumbs up

Hi there,

I had this problem (power calibration error) the whole day with only princo 4x dvd-r on nero 6. I reinstalled winxp, with sp1 and sp2, only sp1, only sp2 and no sp. but nogo

I flashed my firmware with 1.0B, but nothing seems te help.
Then i reinstalled win2003 server E.E. but this didn't help.

Then i flashed my bios back with the 1.09 version (with win2003 server E.E. installed) and restarted my pc and it works fine now with more then 10 dvd's succesfully burned 8-)

Greetzzz

Re: Power Calibration Error In Nero Fix (hopefully)

Hi there

Been using Nero for almost as long as I've been burning CDs; like the irony of 'burning Rome', but have never had a problem until this ****ing calibration error. Disabling the 'IMAPI CD-Burning COM' service worked a treat; thanks very much.
