Blank Page is displayed in the browser after insatlling Apache

Hi..

I have one problem.I dowloaded the latest Apache server 2.2.8 and installed it.It got installed correctly without any error and the service is also got started correctly..But when i type localhost in the browser only blank page is getting displayed...Wats the problem?Wat should i check now? plzzz help...i am trying this for 4 dayssss...still dint figure out the problem..plz urgenttttttt..Its Apache 2.2.8
