i download films from forum w and store on media player . occasionally i want to burn one for the grandchildren. i am using convert x to dvd that other people use i am getting error messages power calibration and burner dirty . brand new computer and i have burnt cds.any suggestions i hace maxwell dvd-r discs . is it discs or could it be that i am using vista . many thanks

Try Uninstall and reinstall i've been using this for ages and use any discs mostly dvd+rw with no problems but on xp sp2 though.

Vista shouldn't have a problem with this, i use it on my laptop dual booted to XP and Vista, they both work fine, i think you need to replace the CDROM drive
