Private Messages ErrorI am able to access my UserCP, however, when I goto the Private Messages it says:
BobbyDouglas, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: 1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? 2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.Profile.php is the only page this shows up on. Any ideas? __________________

Bobby, I send J a private message on this. The same thing has been happening to me all day, but it is intermitent. I thought it may have something to do with Mozilla, but I tried IE as well as Konqueror with the same results.
Like I said, it is itermitent, sometimes I can get in and sometimes I can't. I can't see a pattern either. I thought it was just a problem that I was having, but it appears that you have the exact same thing occuring... |

OK, I will look into this right away and see what this problem is all about. I am almost certain this has something to do with the 'promotion' system. This is something new to me and something we've started running just a couple of days ago.

I THINK I've fixed it. Don't know what the results will be for another 40 minutes - because 'Promotions' are run every hour... but I will log in a couple of hours to see if they worked.
Let me know if something still doesn't seem right. FYI, you will notice that your PM capacity may be lower than what you had previously. This is just temporary... until you reach a certain level in your reputation and post counts. Once again Bobby (and dsmith), you're keeping me on my toes, and for that, you deserve some REP! ![]() __________________

J,
I was just going to tell you that my private messages have seemed to worked all day, but when I just logged in now, I don't have access. Sorry. I was hoping to give you some good news... |

Yes, this is why I added an Announcement just for today... I am testing a different idea right now so you will have access OFF and ON all day today. I have just set up new promotion rules a few minutes ago.
Give it another 2 - 4 hours and if everything goes as planned, things should be back to normal by then. __________________

I am happy to announce that both, the PROMOTIONS and DEMOTIONS work wonderfully on GIDForums™ now! The final test (a demotion), worked flawlessly and exactly as expected.
This calls for a happy dance... ![]() I will work on the chart of promotions and 'benefits' as soon as I am able to. |
