What I typed was just the email address. However, I just tried again, this time using the entire "a href" string:

<a href="mailto:info@domain.gr">info@domain.gr</a>

...and it works!

This may sound stupid, but... it appears to the visitor that nothing has changed. With the mouse over the email address, the browser's status bar still shows: "Send mail to info@domain.gr". Of course, that's exactly what I want to accomplish, i.e. no visible changes to the page visitor, but is the email address now REALLY encrypted from the SPAM bots? LOL!
