I'm looking for a free web host that supports streaming media? (i.e winamp and realplayer supported types).
If any one knows of any PLEASE let me know!

Hmm...I can't think of any free host that provides streaming service.

From What I understand, there is no HOST that can stream music for free anymore. I would have suggested http://www.live365.com but they went pay. If you had an Always-On-Connection like DSL, Cable (yet most say they will not allow what I will say) or T1 (I want one ), then you can head down to http://www.shoutcast.com/download/serve.phtml and download the server and stream it your self. If you have an webserver (that you paid for) but no High-Speed conn then go the On-Demand Audio way. This is a technology that I am working on right now and it would involve PHP/MySQL as a later version, but the basic (or "Infant" [What I call it]) version is quite easy. I will not post how to use it right now, but I will later.

Unfotunatley I only have 56k modem but otherwise I would've gone straight for shoutcast anyway, I have used it in the past but that was before I moved out of the City and into the Village where there is not going to be any plans for adsl for then next 10 years!!! (Gutted)..

Has anyone done any research on streaming hosts and thier cost? I might need on ein the near future and all of the onese that I have seen have not looked real great.

If you're not looking to use a host for an actual website, you can upload your streaming files to:

They are a very reliable file storage place, and they support themselves by adding interstital pages for each time one of your files are downloaded (which is not annoying by any means!).
