How to add a web page I created to apacheI'm completely new to using web server software, so please bear with me. I installed Apache using WinXP Pro. I get the "It Works" page when I type in (Local Host) in the address bar, so I know apache is installed correctly. I created a simple web page using notebook. The web page works fine when I view it in the folder I created it in, but I can't get it to work as a web page with Apache. I get all of the file that are in the webpage to show up , but I can't get just the home page to show up like a regular web site does. I set both the httpd DocumentRoot & Directory to (D:\Documents and Settings\Computer D\My Documents\Webpage design), but all of the files show as a list instead of a web page. I also tried directing just the home page which is (WebPage.html), but I keep getting the error "DocumentRoot must be a directory". Can anyone help get my webpage to view as a webpage and not all of the files at once.
Thank you. |

Re: How to add a web page I created to apacheYou need to rename the file as 'index.html' or 'index.htm' to work.
