Speed up Firefox

I've tried this myself and it has significantly decreased my webpage load times.

Note: This is completely reversible if your not happy with the settings.

Open Firefox
On the address bar type in about:config

Navigate to the following keys

network.http.pipeling ------------>Set this to TRUE
network.http.proxy.pipelining ----->Set this to TRUE
network.http.pipelining.firstrequest------->Set this to TRUE
(Note: network.http.pipelining.firstrequest is only available on the OLD VERSION of Firefox)
http.pipeling.maxrequests--------->Set this to at least 30

Now Right click on that window and choose NEW>>Integer

Add an integer called
nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set it to 0

Done... This should significantly make your firefox browser much faster

Re: Speed up Firefox

I thought you were into Safari these days, what happened?

Anyway, this tip was mentioned here 3 years ago.

Went back to Firefox...Safari 3 Beta is very unstable.. Open more than 10 tabs and you have the damn safari.exe dumping memory, and the browser crashes... *sigh*.

I'll just have to wait for the stable one to come out

Re: Speed up Firefox

From what I've read, WinSafari was created by Apple to help facilitate development for the iPhone. I haven't heard what the latest status is and where the project is headed. I

don't know if Apple is serious about bringing Safari completely to Windows. I suspect that if they are, they will release a new version when the iPhone SDK is released (which they need to do soon if they want to compete against Android).

Re: Speed up Firefox

I linked to the old thread because it is related to this one. If it isn't always obvious, JdS is always (ALWAYS) thinking of the Search Engines...
