Deploy problems with C application in WindowsSummary:
I've written an ANSI C program in Visual Studio 2005 but can’t figure out how to deploy it. The Program: The program is strict ANSI C. I've written one .h header file and use many of the standard ANSI C libraries. I've written and debugged it in Visual Studio 2005 on a Windows XP Pro platform. Even when I shut down Visual Studio the .exe file works great. The Problem: I now want to move it to another Windows XP Pro machine which has all the .net libraries up to date, but does not have Visual Studio. When I move the .exe file that executes perfectly on the development machine to the other machine I get "...failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect." Already Tried: I've carefully read the MSDN article: "How to: Deploy a Setup and Deployment Project" and tried to follow it's instructions. But I have no DLLs and many of the steps don't seem to apply to ANSI C. When I get to the end and try the resulting .exe on the other machine, it, too, gives the same message. Any suggestion? |

Re: Deploy problems with C app in WindowsYou need to download the "redistributable" files installer from Microsoft and install it on any appropriate machine that does not have the development environment installed. See:
