If you goto about.com under "Clip-Art" then they would redirect you to Public Domain Images.

I highly recommend www.gettyimages.com . If you register an account now, you may get a watermark on some of their photos. However, if you ask someone who has an account at GettyImages from previous years, they might just supply you with their username and password (which is what happened to me )...They have thousands of great royalty-free stock photos, and I have taken a few from their site for use on a "professional" site I am working on. But there are just so many that I can't decide which ones to use! I even heard that some textbooks even used images from their site!

I think that iStockPhoto is another excellent resource. I used to use them before I found GettyImages, but the images they have are so limited compared to Getty!
