cpu-loser is on a distinguished road

agp 4x and agp 8x?


i have a question i am planing on getting a new mother board. the agp slot it has is a 4x and and i was looking at a video card that iwant but it is for agp 8x the quetsion i have is will agp 8x card work on agp 4x

I should work just fine but I would suggest buying a motherboard that supported an AGP 8X especially if you’re going to be playing games.

hm the problem with that is i just bought sdram 512 and a new mother board with agp8x require ddr which is very expensive unless u know of a mother board that doesnt require that.??

No you're right about the ram I think. An AGP 4X should work fine most hardware is backwards compatible.

would u happen to know of a place where i can look at motherboards i know there is a lot on the net but i mean something that been tested?

oh and wat did u mean by agp8x for games wat is the advatage of it over a 4x

X8 is faster. I'll look around and see if I can give you a few links. First I need to know what type of processor you have? AMD or Intel?
