WHOIS query blockedBecause the owners of DNSStuff are becoming increasingly 'greedy', restricting or limiting their Whois tools every way they can (eventhough I am a registered member), I have decided that I should write my own.
However, the WHOIS command on this server is timing out. Disabling the firewall seems to have fixed it, so it is obviously a firewall configuration error. For now I have added port 43 to the TCP_OUT (allowed outgoing tcp ports list) option, and reloaded the firewall. Now I can run the queries, but I wonder if I did the right thing? Server Information:
