DOS: How to copy only updated (or new) files? One of the folders I back up off my PC is a folder with large .tar.gz files. Since they are already compressed, I just copy them onto a DVD RAM using the DOS copy command in my script.
Since some of these files are the same since the last update, I want to avoid copying them to the disk again. What is the command, if any, to just copy the files that are updated or new? This question is related to my backup thread. |

Look up xcopy /M. (And/Or read up on the Archive attribute bit and how to manipulate it directly or with 3rd party archival programs.) http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d....mspx?mfr=true Regards, Dave |
