Pictures are too bigHi, On my site I have alot of digital pictures to show my friends craft work. I have them as a jpeg format. These pictures are huge! Is there anythign I can do to reduce the file size without makeing the pics physically smaller on the page?? Thanks

Which image program are you using? If your using anything other than Photoshop, Fireworks, Paint Shop Pro and want something free for windows (or linux) go to http://www.gimp.org or just jump to here: http://www.gimp.org/win32/
Anyway, you can reduce the quality of jpegs because it is a lossy file type rather than a lossless like PNG down to something like 80-85% which will significantly reduce the file size without reducing quality too much. Its all about a quality/file size compromise in the end though, which you will have to decide for yourself. Rob |
