Meta Refresh IssueHello All,
I have a strange problem, and I cannot get an agreed plan of attack from my hosting provider to resolve this. My website when viewed through a browser, on occasions returns meta refresh text as below (this is the complete text): <HEAD><META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="0" URL="http://www.blahblah.com.au/"></HEAD> A quick click on refresh and everything loads. This is obviously an issue, but is more so because on this same server we have developed an SMS application that (the prototype written in PHP) interacts with an SMS gateway. When the gateway calls the information, of course intermittently the same as with our site, the returned SMS can be just the markup as I have listed above. Can anyone suggest a solution? Is this Apache? I can rule out the SMS gateway because it also occurs through browser. I can also rule out a transparent proxy in use by the ISP, because going through two different means. I believe it is in the Apache config itself. Ideas? I appreciate your time in reading my words. Brett brettjb@hotmail.com |

hmmm,
so the refresh is added at random at some or all pages? you are sure there is not some include file that will be added to the file, like advertisements? also, the file where this refresh is added, it does not include that refresh line in the file. e.g. in PHP you can add it with an if(), and that could be the problem |

The home of our site is a standard .html page, and occasionaly has this problem. Sometimes it is fine.. Sometimes not. No includes or anything at all. Just standard html.
The php file is in the same boat. It is obviously the same issue causing this. But I don't know why.... |

if your host also can not solve this it might be an issue on your side.
have you tried with other browsers or computers? at my school computers are crap. full with spyware, hacking stuff and more crap. pages load weird, popups all the time and people reboot your computer with some hacking program |

Thanks mate. Yeah, thta's not the issue..
Have tried different computers, different ISPs, different browsers. The SMS gateway calls our URL and occasionally gets this message, the same as when we do it via browser. So I can safely say we can rule all those things out. The only common factor appears to be the host. Eg. User sends SMS SMS goes through telco to SMS gateway SMS gateway calls our URL (.php) The response by the php file is directly returned to the user (SMS) get html markup (Again, this is intermittent). Eg 2 Request simple html page through browser get html markup (Intermittent) |
