How to make SOUND on server from webpage?I've googled my butt off, and I can't find a solution for this...
I've got a unique situation where I want to make my Windows XP apache webserver make sound on command (ie. command line "start ding.wav"). I have a .bat file that works (I've tested it). And I've built the web page that makes a CGI call to run the .bat. It all works, but no sound! If I run the .bat from the server itself, it works, but if I run it via the webpage calling the cgi which calls the bat, it doesn't work. I'm fairly certain it's a permission/ privilege issue, but I don't know how to fix it! How do I allow the CGI script the necessary permissions to execute the "start ding.wav" and have it work on the server??? Thanks. |
