Google adSense spans from dating to Linux Servers!!!
So you'll fail to get trageted traffic.

adSense fails to identify your site speciality or lack of advertisers on your site topic. Both variants are bad (to my mind).

You can solve this problem by making your title more specific, at the moment it is: New Talks - Index
Change this. For example on this forum the title is:
GIDForums - Programming, Webmaster and Web Design Forums
Also I've notice that on your logo you dont have alt text, please put it, I would advice not New Talks but use keywords, ex. webmasters forum

You are using simple machines SMF I think it has an option for news; use that also to put some nice keywords, check this site:
http://pb-invest.com/ I use "online investment forum" on the news (1), on the Title (2) on the h1 (3) and on the logo image (4).
so I used the keyword on 4 instances.

I've noticed that the google banner is back on the corner, do you think it is better there?

Mark..well..I visited also..and the first thing I though..was...uh oh..didnt pay his bill..OR...he just gave up. So actually we all can learn from this....The market he chose ..News...is a tough nut to crack. Thats wht I always say..before you build....FIND THE MARKET FIRST!
