Web Design a New CareerI needed to change careers & it seems to me that Web design would be the way to go. I have some computer experience & minimal qualification (ECOL). I used to be a nurse & did most of my pharmacy degree. I learn very quickly & well &. I'd like to know what you think would be the best web design course I can take in the UK.

Re: Web Design a New CareerThough I'm not in the UK, I might be able to give you food for thought.
Why web design? Are you interested in web programming (like back-end work such as database interface or web applications), user interface (HTML and CSS), Flash design, site design (such as templating w/ Photoshop), or some other aspect? Many online places offer various "webmaster" certificates, which you may want to look into (just do a search for computer certifications). You could also just buy/borrow a few books and practice on your own, not to mention all the resources available on the Internet. If you plan on getting a job, you'll need to create a portfolio to showcase your skills (not totally necessary for back-end work). In that case, look for part-time or volunteer work you can do. You can always free-lance as a consultant also. __________________
