Good Web Sites Host

Greetings,

I hope this is the right area. I am looking to switch from Godaddy due to all the difficulties I have with them and their servers. Any suggestions as to another good host??

I am going to have to renew my domain also.

Thanks,
Richard

I'd suggest you keep your domain away from a host. Keeping it at Godaddy should be fine, because some hosts who offer web hosting with a domain might not let you take the domain away.

If you can tell me your budget and your requirements, it'd better help me suggest a host.

Re: Good Web Sites Host

Well, if the host will hold the domain then what a host is this, you should never use such a service at first place!! Yes, its OK to keep the domain with any registrar because you can easily switch hosts or manage it.

You may try namecheap.com for web hosting. They have started to provide this service recently.

I hope Namecheap.com won't follow Godaddy's mistakes and will limit themselves to providing quality shared hosting only.

Re: Good Web Sites Host

I appreceate all that has responded to my request. I decided to go with Hostmonster.com. For better or for worse, I am going to give it a shot for a year, and see how they support their customers. I have been using them since the 1st of October, and so far no difficulties. But, what can a month tell you. Ask me in about 6-9 months, and we will see if anything has changed.

Thanks again.

Re: Good Web Sites Host

Hi Richard,

In my opinion, the best way to deal with this situation is to use:
1. Referral:
Ask your business acquaintances, friends and family which web hosting provider is used for their respective organizations or if they can otherwise recommend a web hosting provider.

2. Money Back Guarantee:
A good and reliable web hosting provider will dare to have a money back guarantee policy for their client. It'll will give more confidence knowing their web hosting provider is not some sort of "back yard" company.

3. Check with a particular web hosting provider (through their "contact us" interface) whether they are able to provide service according to your needs in terms of price, storage space, traffic volume permittable and last but not least is for them to provide a guarantee 24/7/365 support (possible in writting).

Hopefully my input can be of help to you.

Regards,
G00db0y
