MP3 Burning helpI'm using CDBurnerXPPro3, and when I try to burn an MP3 onto a disk, two things happen:
1. It says it has exceeded size limits (despite being 587-ish out of 700 MB) 2. Says it is not a writeable media. how do I fix these issues? and if so, how do I clear the read-only files off the disk? |

Re: MP3 Burning helpBefore you burn to disc, try doing a test burn where it doesn't actually write to the disc. That should tell you if you have any problems before wasting a disc.
You might also try writing at a slower speed or changing disc manufacturers. I've noticed that my generic discs don't burn so well but the name-brand ones do (TDK, Verbatim, etc.) Check to see if there is a firmware upgrade for your burner. Often these problems aren't related to the burning software but are a problem of the drive itself. __________________

Re: MP3 Burning helpIs the CD you're using a CD-R or CD-RW?

Re: MP3 Burning helpOk, now I've run into a new problem- how do I change the speed of my drive to 4x? I see no options for in any menu of the program or even my computer. Also, is there anyway to not compensate space on the CD for quality?

Re: MP3 Burning helpWhen you are getting ready to burn, there should be a setting for changing the burn speed. It may be located under a tab or menu setting. (Not having used your software I don't know for certain where it would be located). It should be pretty obvious; if you still can't find it, check the help file for the program.
I'm not sure what your asking in the second question though. Do you want to have better quality of your songs or do you want to save space? The song quality depends on how high the bitrate is, what audio specification you use (MP3, WMA, AAC, Flac, Ogg Vorbis, etc.), and if you choose lossless format or not. Correspondingly, the file size is bigger the better the quality. __________________

Re: MP3 Burning helpAs for your issue regarding the speed - It also depends on the max speed the CD and the CD-Writer can handle... So check those things out first, but basically as crystalattice said, when you click on the Burn option it should have the option to change it...

Re: MP3 Burning helpIt's a CD-R: For optimal sound quality, what should the settings be? (View attachment) I know I sound like an idiot, but the three options- buh?

Re: MP3 Burning helpNevermind, I found what I needed in the help file. I also mistaked the 'Burn' button for the Burn options dropdown- You have to go to a seperate dwon down, and choose 'write disk'. Ok. Thanks anyway.
