Movie: Open Water

If you like scuba diving and you've never watched Open Water before, I would suggest you avoid watching this movie!

Seriously, I have not seen a more disturbing movie in all my life! I watched it for the first time a few days ago and I am still thinking about it! I'll be honest, I already have this phobia of the sea and this movie just made it all worse.

Apparently, this movie was based on true events, which made it all the more disturbing.

lol

I couldn't agree more. Extremely disturbing and a movie that can't be forgotten. I saw it quite some time ago and as soon as I saw your post I got a shiver.

Now that's scary (the movie, not my wife).

Re: Movie: Open Water

Well, you better not let her watch this movie then, she may not even take that occasional bath! What would you do then?

Re: Movie: Open Water

It is a nice movie.A young couple busy with life, goes on a much needed vacation to a tropical island with a plan to do a little recreational scuba diving. They take a charter boat with a group of other vacationing divers that takes them out to sea to a choice diving location. But when the couple re-emerges from the depths, they find to their shock and dismay that they have been accidentally stranded in the middle of the ocean in shark-infested waters, bobbing on the surface at the mercy of the very creatures they had just been spying on.

Re: Movie: Open Water

I've seen it too and really enjoyed it, if you think thats bad take a look what i found on youtube.

Fatal Diving Accident Caught on Tape

Quote:
In 2000, Yuri Lipski died while scuba diving in Egypt's famous "Blue Hole." During his dive, Lipski had a video camera strapped to his head. This 5-minute clip shows portions of Lipski's final moments, as well as some analysis of the tragic end provided by specialists. Don't expect to be amazed by the level of analysis -- in my opinion, they seem far too emotional and engaged in the clip to be objective -- though they do help clarify what's going on on screen.

Re: Movie: Open Water

It was based on a true story, but I don't think that kind of thing happens a lot.
