Encoding In Apache !!!

Hi Everybody.
I have a small problem with my html files. Index file's encoding is
ISO-8859-1 and other files are the same as index file's encoding.
but after i go to link to other html my browser shows different things, is browser fool or i have to configure my Apache server?
in httpd.conf :
AddDefaultCharset ISO-8859-1

What other things should i do?

I am just guessing...

What is your browser's default character encoding? Try viewing the web pages with your browser's character encoding set at "Auto Detect" or something similar... ?

Hi !
I'm using IE 5 and Opera 7. in ie auto selection works for first file if i go to other files it returns foolish symbols.
In Opera after auto selection it works for all files. does it appear from my browsers or i have to configure my apache's encoding?
Thanks for sharing my problems.
