Logging for virtual hostsI recently installed Linux (a few months ago) and have had great fun with Apache, mysql, qmail, etc......BUT. I have 5 virtual hosts running from the same old Gateway 266. I was considering offering free webhosting, primarily to friends, and wanted people to have individualized logs. Appears, as everything else in Apache, a very simple, elegant config. The pages I found on the net said to simply add, for example:
ErrorLog /usr/local/apache/guyshosting/logs/error_log TransferLog /usr/local/apache/guyshosting/logs/access_log within the body of the virtual server. Makes sense, but I cannot make it work and it is driving me crazy. It's not file permissions. It just keeps logging hits and errors to the general logs and logging nothing to via the designated paths (which correctly point to the log files). Anyone have a clue? |

are you 100% sure that those virtual hosts are working and the the paths to the log files are correct (and exist)
I've never seen this problem before so it must be on your side. you can also try to create those files and re-starting apache and see if that works |
