Unusual time delay (VC++ project)

hi

1) in my project (done in Visual Studio 6.0,VC++), from the workspace selecting any functions of class taking
lot of time to show the function. similarly usage delete and enter keys also
taking unusual time delay.

what could be the problem??

2) To make compilation faster, what settings i need to do?
