C++ with OpenGL

How do I get my compiler ready to program with opengl. Whenever I try to compile example code, it says it can't find the opengl headers and libraries. If no one knows how to do opengl, maybe someone could explain it for directx? Help is appreciated.

Imagine how silly it sounds when someone says:

What compiler are you using?

...when you ask how to get your compiler ready to program with OpenGL. I'm going to guess that you're a traditional Windoze Slave, since you mention DirectX. Perhaps you can define the compiler choice you elect for your system?

Re: c++ with opengl

I also want to know how my compiler(VS 2005) can find the header file(library) such as Allegro, OpenGL and DirectX.

Your help is greatly appreciated by me and others.

Thanks for your help.

Re: c++ with opengl

Both of you simply need to use the help system for your tools. Look for "include path" or similar. Basically, you will go to your project settings/properties and configure the include file search path usually found in relationship to the preprocessor interaction. You then need to specify the absolute path(s) to your desired include files and viola, magic happens.

Of course, once you figure that out, then you'll be wanting to ask how to find the libraries that are required during linking....
