Website MaintanenceI need to run two scripts, once a week to update listings for recently added webcams, and top ten webcam. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this with out human intervention. I just want something to activate these scripts, nothing more. They run untill they are done.
Thanks Richard http://www.thewebcamsite.net |

Re: Website MaintanenceWhat type of system are you using, Linux or something else?
If Linux, in the /etc directory, there may [or should?] be a subdirectory named: cron.weekly. You'll need to put the scripts so there they can be run. It might be necessary to create a small shell script that merely wraps the command: php file.php Look at some examples that might already be in that directory, or one of the other cron.* directories. I don't claim to be a cron expert, but maybe someone can provide more details that I can explain. EDIT: here a couple of links for more info: http://www.htmlcenter.com/tutorials/...d=155&type=PHP http://www.hackernotcracker.com/2007...d-crontab.html There were more, here is what I googled: cron jobs "php scripts" __________________

Re: Website MaintanenceWhat database version do you have available?
With MySQL 5.1, they now have "event scheduling", see here: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/...-overview.html __________________
