how to set icons alias in apache

Hi
I have a very basic question.

I have an application on the server which is generating JPEG images in some folder on the server. I want those images accessed by the apache server when it is displaying the html output page.

I think I can do that by using /icons aliases but I don't know how to point the icons aliases to the folder containing the image.

Can someone please help me with that.

Thanks
