I am sure some of you have noticed that Google began a major "dance" last week. From what I have read, it seems to have caused a lot of pain for numerous webmasters...somewhat like the dance from May of this year.

Apart from the updated SERPs, every once in a while I notice changes in the PR. For those who want to play around with the toolbar using the hosts file, I believe the -va data center has the updated PR.

Please post if this dance has had any positive or negative impact on your websites.

Anyway, to be honest, I haven't seen much difference at least not with www.desilva.biz. Unique hits have improved at the same rates month on month, so have page views; if things have indeed changed, I am not seeing it or it's not so obvious to me.

Is it really that bad overall?

From what I hear, its been bad for many commercial phrases. I have only been impacted on one search term and what's ahead of me is just too spammy.

Yes, I must admit I have come across quite a few threads (really LONG threads) on the subject recently but I was wondering to myself why I didn't notice anything myself...

If it's just the 'selling' phrases, then I can understand why I am 'out of the loop'... on second thought, I don't really know if that makes me feel any better actually

PR and backlinks were updated last night.

They are obviously not following a precise 1-month dance schedule.

I installed the Google toolbar for the first time two days ago. At that time (as well as yesterday), the root of this site (http://www.gidforums.com) was PR-0; today it is PR-6.

Yeah...looks like its dancing again.
