Hiya.Hi there, I'm based in the UK and finally getting time to revisit my love for programming - though having a family may restrict this somewhat.
See you around. |

Re: Hiya. For those things that you love, you always find time. You can probably squeeze the family in as well.

Re: Hiya.Just realised how my post must sound now... I started out in life wanting to be a programmer and really loved it, but somehow drifted into the hardware market. So in terms of computing, programming is my first love... if you see what I mean? My mentioning my family and how they would restrict the amount of time I could use for getting back into programming hopefully demonstrates they are my priority in life. Your comment was really useful there Cable_Guy as it highlighted how my post could have been misunderstood because of the way I had written it - thank you. |

I certainly see how software can be more appealing. Here is a famous quote by a software guy: "We have seen that computer programming is an art, because it applies accumulated knowledge to the world, because it requires skill and ingenuity, and especially because it produces objects of beauty." ---Donald Knuth Computer Programming as an Art Here is a famous quote by a hardware guy: "I beheld the monster --- the miserable wretch whom I had created." --- Mary Shelly Frankenstein Welcome to our little group. Re: Hiya.Quote:
Actually, I was just poking fun. I didn't really think you were putting something so banal as programming above family. I just couldn't resist. Mostly, since you aren't exactly new to our little group here, I didn't (couldn't) give you my regular welcome wagon (Hello and Welcome) intro. I always like to see the Members post in this forum. In my humble opinion, anyone and everyone that becomes an active poster here is OK by me. So, Hello and Welcome to GIDForums™ Silent. May your time here be time well invested! Mark __________________
