Cannot seem to get this drvie functioning on Win 98 (1st Edition) using Adaptec CD Creator 4 Standard Edition.

Welcome to the Board ozltd!!!

You said your version is Adaptec CD Creator 4 Standard Edition BUT,

ONLY Adaptec Easy CD Creator ver 4.03 and up supports the CRX0811.

Why don't you use SONY CD MAKER 2000 Pro which came with the recorder?

That's strange, cause over in this part of the world, the drive is shipped with Sony CD Maker 2000 Pro.

In case you decide to try the software, here's the download page. You can also find some other info around in the page.

Today, in a passing conversation with a guest, he mentioned that "cd-roms and burners don't use or require drivers!"

That explains why so many ppl end up here looking for the driver - ALSO the CRX0811 is similar to CRX140E/CH2, whatever that is...

I face this problem also as CRX0811 can read CD but not writing to the CDR/CDRW by using CD-MAker 2000 ( I am using Windows 2000 Professional). After installing Adaptec DirectCD 4.05, it shows that no supported CDR/CDRW drives are found". What happen to this CDRW drive actually? and I have email the Sony Corporation about this matter, no reply received, same as many other users (as they said Sony never attend user support!). Any help, please....

what if it might have something to do with whether your cdrw drive is the master or slave drive, would it make a difference?
