Student programming questions

I attend a middle school. We are doing career projects and I am interested in becoming a computer game programmer. If you could reply here or email me back the answers to the following interiview questions as soon as possible that would be great (soccer-spaz@hotmail.com).

What is a typical day like as a computer game programmer?
What kind of a college would I have to go to so I can become a game programmer and how many years of college would that be? Could you giv me an example or two?
What do you think the average salary of a game programmer would be?
What is the most difficult part of your job?
Do you think being a game programmer is a steady job?
How hard is it to find a job as a game programmer? If I become a game programmer would there even be a job opening for me anywhere in the future?
Do you enjoy your work? Please explain why or why not.
Approximately how many hours per day do you work and how many days per week?
Do you constantly have things to do at work or do you have some days where there doesn’t seem to be much to work on?
Are you able to work from home as a game programmer or do you have to go to work every day?

Thank you for your help, Shawn.

Re: Student programming questions

Not working in the industry I can't answer your questions directly. But I will point you to www.gamasutra.com which is dedicated to the game designer industry. They have several articles talking about life as a gamer and what you should be looking at.
