Re: Pointers

LuciWiz totally messed up the message I posted on Mar 22. I posted before and after code examples, which you can no longer discern by reading the post. And he left it such that I can't edit it to correct it. This would be bad behavior even if he weren't the moderator, but it's doubly so since he is.

I put both sections of code in their own [ CODE ] block. They are used on every other forum but this one, AFAICT. They serve the very same purpose as CPP blocks and worked very well until the message was messed up.

Yes, we messed up editing your previous message. I hope I have fixed it now?

I apologize for my mistake. I always double-check when I edit posts, but I slipped up this time.

[code] tags work on our forum too, but we prefer to use specific tags for each programming language so that the code will be properly highlighted - for increased readability.

Normally members use the proper tags, but when they don't it's my job to edit the post and insert/replace them. It does not offer me an incredible feeling of self-fulfilment, but someone has to do it.

In case you are under the impression that I did something "special" so that you couldn't edit your post, you are mistaken. The forum only allows you to edit your own post for a small period of time, and it has expired when you noticed my mistake.

Again, I am sorry about my blunder.

Best regards,
Lucian

I never noticed that before.

No hard feelings. I hope the post was helpful to lyojarhhs or others, but this thread has gotten kind of distracted.
