Power Calibration Error also...


I just bought a new Lite-On DVD burner from Wal-Mart 2 days ago
I put it in my computer and it burns DVD and CD perfectly
but when it comes to DL-DVDs, it always get Power Calibration Error
I switched a few DL discs but it doesnt help
what do you guys think the problem is? or maybe that I shouldnt get computer parts from Wal-Mart?(lol)

maybe your burner doesn't support dual layer burning. Or you burn the disc with the speed that is beyond the specification your dvd burner. mind sharing the model of your burner?

the model is LiteOn LH-16W1P, manufactured in October 2006, and it state that supports Double Layer +R media, up to 8X, and the DVD im using is Verbatim DVD+R DL, supports 8X and up to 10X

try to burn the DL DVD on low speed like 2.4x, you can set on the burning software you are using.
Normally, a firmware upgrade form the manufacturer is needed for this, because some disc are not not optimize on their writing strategy at the particular disc with that burner. But be careful though on upgrading, it can totally damaged your burner, be sure to read the instruction carefully and sure what you are doing.
