Power Calibration Area Full


i have been trying burn my DVD (sony writer) and everytime i do, i get power calibration error. i reinstalled my operating system ( win xp media center ) and installed nero ultra 7 edition and now it gives me power calibration area full error.
plz suggest, thanks in advance.
do u think my dvd burner is screwed up but some how i can read dvd;s

Download the manual if you would like to see this info for yourself, but Nero explain that error being down to either duff media, duff drive, or the need to upgrade the firmware of the drive.
