2 apache installs, 1 network

ok so my roomates wants to be able to share his pic's using apache... i installed and did everything the same as my computer...installation dir ...confg...everything. i changed all the info for the dydns port.... it's still not working. does apache not work over a network... mine uses :8080 his uses :1234 ... to be more specific. Can he have apache working on his computer as well as mine using the same internet connection (cable) on diff ports? dydns is setup, conf is completed and saved. it's really confusing me. i know i got the install and config right...and it's not working . anyone with any suggestions please reply

Allowee has a spectacular aura about
Do you use a router?

if you do, then you need to make sure that the ports are actually pointing to the computers that run apache.

My router names it 'NAT Setup'

are you able to connect this his computer using his computers IP address and port?

yes

yes i have a router. ' linksys' and i can't access him even when i type in the lan ip of his computer with port number. could it be that he's connected to a hub sharing a connection with another person.... here's his setup ... he and my other roomate are connected to a hub that then inturn connects them to the router.... would that present a problem?

if you can't connect with his IP and port then something else is the problem...

is he using a firewall that blocks port 1234?

are you able to connect to your apache with his computer?

btw, you are on the same network?
most routers have a switch, then it should be ok.
